Investment in Training Pays Off
A successful independent agency realized that their mostly-junior, mostly-female talent account team needed to improve their skills.
I helped the Managing Director and the Head of Account Services clarify goals and their team’s strengths and weaknesses.
Then I led a custom series of hands-on workshops on presentation skills and negotiation techniques. The goal was to create an open, supportive environment that would help participants learn to apply new skills. Along with junior team members, I invited agency leaders to attend, which increased morale by showing that we all can use some training, no matter what our skill level. Everyone presented and was critiqued, then everyone offered everyone else feedback and completed their own negotiations.
The account team became more confident and appreciated that the agency was investing in their professional growth through tailored training.
